Minimal theme

Posted by Fahad on Mon, Apr 12 2010

As I mentioned in my previous post, I am releasing a new theme for Croogo. It is very simple and minimalist in design, so I named it Minimal. It is the same theme that I am using for my blog, here is a screenshot:

Download

Download the theme as a zip file here: http://github.com/fahad19/themes/downloads.

Using the theme is very easy. Log in to your Croogo admin panel, upload the zip file from Extensions > Themes page and activate it. Full instructions for themes are available in the wiki.

I installed it and love it :)
Thanks a lot!
I had to change a line or two in the layout file, though.
<i>$javascript->link</i> becomes <i>$this->Html->script</i>, and my Cake 1.3 RC3 was happy.

Thanks for noticing. I fixed that and uploaded a new package (though I didn't face any error but still it should be fixed).

Hey,

I am loving your CMS.

But I just thought that if admin panel can also have custom themes too?

On a fresh install of 1.3, I had to create a 'theme' symbolic link in app/webroot that points to /app/views/themed before your Minimal theme would properly show the CSS markup.

That worked great! Thanks

Yea, this worked for me too. I couldn't figure out why the themes I installed weren't working at all until I added this symbolic link. Seems like a route or config line needs to be added so that this symbolic link isn't necessary. Either that or this directive should be put into the "installation" part of the wiki
